Op Shop Ball 2009

One of Koro's favourite charity events of the year, is the Peet Op Shop Ball for Anglicare. The evening of March 28th was filled with dancing, fine food, fine wine, the most outrageous op shop outfits, and most importantly, generous donations. This year's 'bold and brave' 80's prom theme was fun for all, and everyone involved was sure to dig deep for the cause.

With the help of Koro, $160,000 was raised for Anglicare WA. The mission of the event is to change the lives of people in need, and with the community's help, Anglicare can provide better separation and mediation services, children’s services, family and domestic violence support, relationship counselling and education, crisis and community support, youth services, housing services, aboriginal services and op shops.

Anglicare have been reaching out to the community to support the Op Shop Ball for the past three years, and Koro are proud to support them annually. This year we donated more than $8,700, including an initial sponsorship amount of $3,000, an auction item valued at $5,000, and various cash amounts throughout the evening. On the night, the Koro table donated over $500 in cash, enough for a 'Suitcase of Hope' for a child in foster care, as well as a number of raffle tickets.

Koro staff are looking forward to being involved in next year's Op Shop Ball, which will be held on March 20, 2010.
